CISF finds 12 parrots in bag of Uzbekistan national in Delhi

On Tuesday, when CISF officials were scanning luggage, they came across unusual visuals in a bag of a passenger. The bag was pulled for a physical check. Twelve parrots were then found in a carton inside the bag.

he Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) nabbed a foreign national with 12 parrots at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Tuesday.

The parrots were then handed over to custom officials at IGI’s Terminal 3.

On Tuesday, when CISF officials were scanning luggage, they came across unusual visuals in a bag of a passenger. The bag was pulled for a physical check. Twelve parrots were then found in a carton inside the bag.

The passenger was later identified as Anvarjon Rakhmatjonov – an Uzbekistan national. He was bound for Tashkent by Uzbekistan Airlines.

Upon an enquiry, neither he replied satisfactorily nor produced any valid documents for carrying live birds.

Later, the said foreign passenger along with the recovered parrots was handed over to customs Officials for further legal action in the matter.
